Birthday: 29 September 2010
Carmelle will turn nine years old on September 29. She came to us as a very scared and skinny little kid. We were told by the social worker that she was mute from trauma she had experienced and had not talked in long while. After about a month of living with us she finally started to feel like she belonged, she came down one morning and said mom I love you and I want corn flakes for breakfast. That was the first time we ever heard her speak a word and she has not stopped since, now when we FaceTime the girls, Carmelle is the one who wants the most voice time, it’s actually quite hilarious. She is an incredible gymnast and spends a lot of her time practicing cart wheels and handstands. She is a crazy good soccer player and can really strike the ball hard, I know as I often am the opposing goalie. Carmelle‘s favorite subject in school is reading and her reading has improved a lot in the last year. She says that when she is older, she wants to become a schoolteacher. She loves our two guard dogs, Cindy and Shelly and always make sure there are leftovers for them. She loves to sing and dance and loves movie night, her favorite movie is The Hobbit. She loves attending Church and praise and worship is a huge highlight followed by children’s church. She is usually the first one to come down at breakfast and give a huge smile, followed by a hug and kiss and a big “ I love you” She is an important part of our family and we love you too Carmelle.
