Birthday: 13 May 2005
Angie turned 14 years old on May 13, she is our oldest BOA girl. She is definitely our most responsible girl and takes her older sister role very seriously. Angie was 12 years old when she came into our home, she was scared and very unsure how these two white people would fit into her life. In the beginning she spent a lot of time alone in her room, where we would often find her crying. She had a terrible hard time with her past and trying to figure out how to escape from it. Shortly after Christmas that year something changed and we noticed she was starting to want to be part of the family. It didn’t take long and she started to smile and thrive, once she felt that we were non-threatening, but rather loved her unconditionally. She loves school and she really applies herself and her marks show that as well. Her favorite subject in school is reading, and she reads English very well already. She has a very kind heart and her ambition is to become a nurse, we believe she will be an incredible caregiver. She is working very hard so that she will be accepted into the Evergreen Academy, the school where Mitchella attends. She is a fierce competitor in soccer, but a very good sport and has no problem if her team loses. She loves riding bike, gymnastics, dancing and tearing around on the scooter. For her 14th birthday, when asked what she wanted, she said she wanted a doll that had long hair so she could braid her doll. This strongly reiterated the fact that she had never been able to really enjoy her childhood. She is a huge help in the kitchen, loves to bake and cook and makes an amazing pizza pate. She loves going to church and singing along to the praise and worship band. Angie is super sweet and thanks us often and tells us how much she loves us, we love her too.
